Working with Sarah Harrison's Gentle Yoga for Better Digestion has had an enormous healing impact on my digestion. A long term mid-back injury lead me to yoga 25 years ago and I've been practicing ever since but continue to have referred tightness in my diaphragm. Adding many of the sequences from Gentle Yoga for Better Digestion to my practice has really improved my back tension and eased my diaphragm. I recommend this DVD to anyone who wants more ease in digestive function and breathing. It's also just a great gentle yoga practice.

Just to meet Sarah is worth going to one of her classes. Her presence and heartfelt energy surrounds and lights up anyone who she comes in contact with. Being someone with IBS, anxiety, and depression (Which are all sub-conditions of each other) I have searched high and low into any conventional and alternative health care for support and relief. Sarah has formerly struggled through similar ailments which she has overcome, healed herself of and is now teaching others to do the same. There is no wiser a healer than the one who has sought out and recieved transcendence after experiencing the human struggle.
If your digestion is poor, the health and nourishment of your entire body is altered. I was drawn to Sarah after buying her DVD "Gentle Yoga For better Digestion." Following the video allowed me to release alot of stressful energy and gave me great postures to mindfully detoxify and improve my digestion. Wanting more, I came across Sarah's Inner Truth Yoga practice where she uses gentle restorative yoga in a spa like setting with the fabulous crytal bio mats. These mats, with the amathest and tourmaline crystals and negative ion and infra red qualities are the ultimate source to relaxation. While practicing the healing effects of restorative yoga there is nothing better to compliment healing relaxation than being given the chance to use the bio mats. I had the opportunity to use a bio mat for a 10 day period and I have never slept better. In that time, I had noticed some improvement in my body, pain, and energy. I felt more calm which gives the mind a break and allows potential for the body to heal. The science behing the bio mat is quite fascinating. Sarah is a truly compassionate person with no judgement and divine sincerity. It feels great to surround yourself with such a peacully warm, welcoming teacher and setting. One that pays full attention to your needs and offers any help she can, going out of her way to follow up with class members as much as possible. I would like to thank Sarah and am looking so forward to spending more time in her presence. Namaste, Jacquelyn W |
Sarah Harrison's DVD Gentle Yoga for Better Digestion is a relaxing and energizing experience which incorporates features that I have yet to find in other yoga DVDs.
For example, the main focus is on the breathing, and rightfully so because it is the most important part of yoga. It is refreshing to have a DVD which centres upon different types of breathwork, even some which move the breath between the different sides of the brain! One of my favorite things about the DVD is that it goes through the postures with full dialogue and then again with only the dialogue that is absolutely needed. This way you can learn the postures easily, and then relax into a more meditative state in your practice with less dialogue and a more inward focus. The postures themselves are organized on the DVD so that you can choose to do the whole series or select the parts of it that you feel are right for you that day: sun salutations, breathing exercises, twists.... A DVD like this can coach you into using these postures throughout your day. Personally, I now come home from a tiring shift of waitressing and walk my legs up a wall for several minutes before climbing into bed. This posture calms my mind and brings the blood back to my core, leaving me more relaxed and with less tension in my feet. The result is a better sleep and a happy body to wake up to! Try this DVD not only if you have digestive or medical problems, but also if you feel that your body deserves a treat! -Katie Whitlam, UBC I felt “energized” after doing Yoga for the first time! I’ve never done Yoga before, but this format was easy to learn and apply. It was fun! The instruction was great and easy to follow. The movements and breathing were not overly complicated. However, there is a depth of knowledge in this DVD that I feel I’m only beginning to discover! This experience has been so positive, I can’t wait until I do this again! I am definitely going to incorporate Yoga in my training and my lifestyle! This was a great introduction to Yoga for someone new! - Allen, Vancouver |
