Stress, or relaxation, are in effect the same- we train our bodies to respond by rote with deep relaxation or with tense stress, depending upon what we cultivate in our lives.
Much like walking becomes normal with time, if your body experiences long-term stressors that too becomes normal. We create deep neural and physiological pathways that put us on a hairpin trigger towards stress, and illness. That is… until we change the pattern towards better health and deep relaxation.
